Red Grooms

Red Grooms: is well–known for his witty, brightly colored figurative sculptures and “sculpto–pictoramas,” clever and imaginative environments that relate in some ways to movie sets and the artist’s own experiences in film production. Among the highlights of his prolific career are numerous one–person shows, including recent multi–venue exhibitions and retrospectives. His works are in the collections of New York City’s major museums, plus many other fine art institutions across the country. Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, he has resided in New York City since the late 1950s.
