Michael Horovitz
Michael Horovitz: was characterized in 1970 by Allen Ginsberg as a “Popular, experienced, experimental, New Jerusalem, Jazz Generation, Sensitive Bard.” He is a jazz poet, singer–songwriter, visual artist, translator, literary journalist, and editor–publisher. In 1959 he founded New Departures, introducing early works by Samuel Beckett and William Burroughs. In 2007 he published A New Waste Land: Timeship Earth at Nillennium. He continues to front the Wm Blake Klezmatrix band in which he sings and plays the anglo–saxophone (a kazoo–based instrument of his own devising), and to perform as a duo with Vanessa Vie.
