Lee Sharkey is a Ballymaloe International Poetry Prize Finalist
Congratulations to our Friend and frequent support, Lee Sharkey for becoming a Ballymaloe International Poetry Prize Finalist! She submitted her poem, “Letter to Al,” “a heart-rending account of Sharkey’s experience with her husband’s memory loss that has made her a finalist in a prestigious international poetry contest.” The Portland Press Herald recently ran a great article about Lee, her poem and becoming a finalist. You can read the article here: http://www.pressherald.com/2017/04/24/maine-poet-a-finalist-for-international-prize-with-work-about-husbands-dementia/.
We were incredibly fortunate to be able to print three of Lee’s poems in our Summer 2016 Issue (http://www.thecafereview.com/past-issues/cafe-review-2016-summer-issue-2/).
